BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) – The 4th Annual Cyber Summit was held Wednesday in the Lowcountry.

This years focus was on the dynamic intersection of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

People had the opportunity to hear from state and national leaders on critical cybersecurity.

One city councilman spoke to the importance of having events like these.

“For educators in general, just listening to demand nationwide with over five hundred thousand different opportunities that exist in this job force – to start preparing for that now, educating kids at a young age, getting them interested in cyber security not only gives us more protection moving forward but it also creates leaders inside of our United States,” said Beaufort City Councilman, Josh Scallate.

The Center is dedicated to promoting cybersecurity education in the Lowcountry.
