Kettering Health is working to mitigate impacts from a cybersecurity incident that resulted in a systemwide technology outage this week.The outage, which has been reported to be the result of a cyberattack, limited the network’s ability to access certain patient care systems across the organization.The health network said Tuesday’s incident resulted from someone gaining “unauthorized access to its network.”In an update Wednesday, Kettering Health said procedures are being evaluated on a case-by-case basis, based upon collaborative decision-making between care teams.On Thursday, Kettering Health shared an update on patient appointments, saying any patient with an appointment scheduled should assume it is on unless they are contacted by phone to reschedule.“If you have an appointment scheduled, please assume your appointment will happen unless you are contacted by phone to reschedule. Our offices, while operating on alternate procedures in this situation, are still seeing patients when possible,” a statement from the network said.Kettering Health said women’s health patients who are experiencing urgent needs after-hours should go to their website for updated phone numbers.
