In Washington D.C. today, Nevada Senator Jacky Rosen (D) teamed up with Senator Todd Young (R-Indiana) to introduce a bill that aims to strengthen the cybersecurity of our health care in the United States.
The “Healthcare Cybersecurity Act” was brought to the Senate and would direct the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to work together to improve cybersecurity.
It would also encourage the agencies to provide more resources to non-federal entities in relation to cyber threat indicators and defense.
“For years, America’s health care system has faced devastating cyberattacks that have exposed patients’ data, jeopardized access to care, and hurt local and rural medical facilities across Nevada,” said Senator Rosen.
Senator Young adds, “Our bipartisan bill will take critical steps to strengthen cybersecurity infrastructure and better protect patients’ personal data.”
