Blackpoint Cyber, a provider of managed detection and response (MDR) services, has partnered with cyber insurance marketplace UKON to support managed service providers’ (MSPs) cyber risk management efforts.

The partnership aims to help MSPs evaluate cyber risk, access insurance coverage and enhance security outcomes for their clients.

This move comes as the industry sees the emergence of the Cyber Risk Advisor model, which places a greater emphasis on proactive cyber protection strategies.

The collaboration integrates UKON’s expertise in embedded insurance distribution and “financial-grade risk intelligence” with Blackpoint Cyber’s 24/7 MDR platform and Security Operations Centre (SOC).

The companies aim to empower MSPs to take the lead in risk conversations, and meet the demands of insurance and compliance, the press release said.

Blackpoint Cyber chief financial officer Mike Yang said: “Our partnership with UKON is a natural extension of Blackpoint’s mission. Together, we are delivering a smarter, more scalable approach to cyber risk that combines operational defence with financial resilience. This collaboration is a win for our partners, their clients and the broader channel.”

UKON CEO Cole Knuth stated: “Blackpoint is not just another partner. They bring reputation, rigour and reach. Their track record in real-world defence speaks for itself. Partnering with Blackpoint affirms the strength of our ecosystem and sharpens the edge for every Cyber Risk Advisor on our platform.”

UKON assists businesses in assessing risk and accessing coverage through embedded distribution and automating quoting. It is designed for MSPs, agencies and enterprise partners.

Blackpoint Cyber was established by former NSA cybersecurity experts and backed by a 24/7 human-led SOC.

It aims to redefine the approach to threat prevention, detection, response and recovery through CompassOne, a unified security posture and response platform.
