The first half of 2025 has continued to see strong momentum and steady venture funding for many cybersecurity startups, despite the widely felt economic uncertainty that has affected other industries. Tariffs and federal government efficiency measures appear to have had minimal impact on major cybersecurity vendors, according to Wall Street analysts, and the same would appear to be true for some of the most promising emerging vendors in the space.

As part of CRN’s midyear 2025 coverage, we’ve selected 10 cybersecurity startups that have been on our radar during the first six months of the year. These up-and-coming companies are offering new approaches to key categories including AI-powered security operations, cloud security, identity protection and application security.
In terms of specific criteria for this list, we’ve chosen from among cybersecurity startups that have raised a significant Series A or Series B funding round since the beginning of 2025. In addition, the companies must have recently launched new products in fast-growing security segments or unveiled major channel-related moves.
What follows are the key details on 10 of the hottest cybersecurity startups of 2025 so far.
Cynomi
Founded: 2020
CEO: David Primor
Cynomi provides an automated vCISO platform that aims to offer equivalent capabilities to a governance, risk and compliance (GRC) tool while also going further by conducting gap analysis, creating customized policies and developing a prioritized remediation plan to ensure that cybersecurity is addressed as well. The MSP-focused platform is tailored toward securing small and midsize enterprises, according to the company. In April, Cynomi announced raising $37 million in Series B funding co-led by Insight Partners and Entrée Capital. And last November, the company hired Ken Marks—a cybersecurity veteran most recently at SentinelOne—as its new CRO to drive accelerated growth for the startup with the help of the channel.
Endor Labs
Founded: 2021
CEO: Varun Badhwar
Endor Labs offers an application security platform focused on rapidly identifying, prioritizing and remediating software vulnerabilities. A major emphasis is on helping developers to securely incorporate open-source and AI-generated code. In April, Endor Labs disclosed it had raised $93 million in Series B funding led by DFJ Growth. And last November, the startup unveiled a pair of major new capabilities—Upgrade Impact Analysis for identifying which upgrades will have the largest impact on security and Endor Magic Patches for delivering security-related patches that are applied to the affected software version.
Mimic
Founded: 2023
CEO: Derek Smith
Mimic offers a SaaS-based ransomware defense platform, offering “early” detection of ransomware as well as deflection of attacks and rapid recovery, according to the startup. In February, Mimic announced raising $50 million in Series A funding led by GV and Menlo Ventures. Also in February, the startup unveiled its latest new capability with the debut of the Mimic Signal Generator, which allows customers to “safely see what real ransomware would do inside their networks,” the company said in a news release.
Mitiga
Founded: 2019
CEO: Charlie Thomas
Mitiga offers a cloud and SaaS security platform focused on threat detection as well as threat investigation and response. The technology ultimately enables customers to address cloud and SaaS threats “over 90 percent faster than traditional approaches,” the company said. In January, Mitiga announced closing a $30 million Series B round of funding led by Syn Ventures. Then in February, the startup announced the hire of Charlie Thomas, formerly the longtime CEO of channel-focused managed security platform vendor Deepwatch, as its new chief executive.
Oligo Security
Founded: 2022
CEO: Nadav Czerninski
Oligo Security offers an application detection and response platform that aims to deliver enhanced visibility and a better picture of the true security risk in software. Key capabilities include “deep” inspection into applications at runtime, providing a real-time view into libraries and function-level activity, according to the company. In January, Oligo Security announced raising a $50 million Series B funding round led by Greenfield Partners.
Orchid Security
Founded: 2024
CEO: Roy Katmor
Orchid Security offers technology that accelerates the deployment of identity security tools through an orchestration platform powered in part by Large Language Models. The startup’s offering—which can also reduce the cost of utilizing identity and access management—ultimately serves to “unify and secure complex identity environments across enterprises,” Orchid said in a news release. In April, Orchid Security announced the hire of Trish Cagliostro, formerly the vice president of channels and alliances at Wiz, as its CRO as the startup pursues a channel-focused growth strategy.
Sentra
Founded: 2021
CEO: Yoav Regev
Sentra provides a cloud-native data security platform that aims to offer improved capabilities for scanning, classification and data privacy, ultimately providing greater automation for detection of risks involving data security and privacy. In April, the startup announced raising $50 million in Series B funding led by Key1 Capital. And at RSAC 2025 in May, Sentra debuted its Data Security for AI Agents offering, providing capabilities such as automated discovery and identification of AI agents as well as agentic models.
Seraphic Security
Founded: 2020
CEO: Ilan Yeshua
Seraphic Security offers technologies aimed at securing enterprise browser usage via a simplified architecture and reduced cost. The company’s capabilities—including secure web gateway, zero-trust network access and cloud access security browser—also can provide secure access to SaaS-based and private web applications. In January, Seraphic Security announced raising $29 million in Series A funding led by GreatPoint Ventures, with participating investors that included the CrowdStrike Falcon Fund. Then in June, the startup debuted its new BrowserTotal service, which aims to enable real-time assessment of an enterprise’s browser security posture.
SpecterOps
Founded: 2017
CEO: David McGuire
SpecterOps offers what it calls the industry’s first platform for comprehensively removing identity-based attack paths—the SpecterOps BloodHound Enterprise platform—as well as open-source tools that map Active Directory attack paths. In March, SpecterOps raised $75 million in Series B funding round led by Insight Partners and including participation from corporate investors Cisco Investments and M12 (Microsoft’s venture capital fund). Then in June, the company unveiled a new set of capabilities, Privilege Zones, for defining custom security boundaries to protect key resources while enforcing least-privileged access.
Zero Networks
Founded: 2019
CEO: Benny Lakunishok
Zero Networks offers a network microsegmentation platform that delivers significantly greater automation to provide MSPs with an easier way to deploy the technology, according to the company. Its technology is based around a deterministic engine that can create the necessary rules and policies for microsegmentation, and the platform also doesn’t require software agents like many other technologies in the sector, Zero Networks has said. In June, Zero Networks announced raising a $55 million Series C funding round led by Highland Europe.
