Thousands of firms are being targeted today, by the vulnerability on the Microsoft Sharepoint software they use from their own premises.

About 100 firms are known to have been compromised so far, including two federal agencies, and a “limited number of UK firms.”

Google’s Mandiant says that “at least one of the actors responsible for this early exploitation is a China-nexus threat actor.” And it is quite easy for other threat actors to exploit the vulnerability, because a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) exploit is now publicly available on GitHub.

So, the question to ask yourself is: how many of my critical suppliers are being breached today, via their Microsoft SharePoint. What harm could that kind of supplier breach do to my firm, and what can I do about it?
