LBW Workforce Development hosted a Cyber Security Summit on the Andalusia campus on Thursday, June 12, featuring Stephanie Watt, the Cyber Security State Coordinator for the Alabama Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Department of Homeland Security.

LBW President Brock Kelley welcomed attendees to the event before LBW Associate Dean of Workforce Development Chad Sutton introduced Watt as the guest speaker.

Watt presented key strategies for building secure, resilient systems and stressed the importance of real-time cyber threat information sharing. Attendees gained valuable knowledge on risk management for small and mid-sized businesses, current cyber threat trends, best practices, and CISA resources such as Logging Made Easy (LME) and the #StopRansomware campaign.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to help our community strengthen and safeguard their systems. We appreciate Stephanie and CISA for sharing their valuable expertise during today’s event,”  Sutton said.

The event also featured a catered lunch from the Blue Bird Coffee Company.
