Information risk management and security is of paramount importance in the day-to-day operations of insurance and financial services businesses.  Nationwide is proud to share our Chief Technology and Information Security Officer, Todd Lukens, has been chosen for the 2025 class of Foundry Chief Security Officer’s (CSO) Hall of Fame. One of just 12 inductees, Lukens’ induction celebrates his contributions to the industry and ongoing efforts to combat cybercrime.

“This is an incredible honor, and I am proud and humbled to accept this on behalf of the Nationwide team,” said Lukens. “The diligence and commitment to protection that our security team exhibits every day has kept our customers’ data safe and helped to make Nationwide one of the most trusted insurance and financial services companies in the country. I’m truly honored to be able to lead our incredible team.”

Now in its seventh year, the CSO Hall of Fame honors leaders who have significantly contributed to advancing information risk management and security. CSO chooses inductees who exemplify the qualities of leadership and excellence and, by their example, contribute to improving security across all organizations.

“Todd and his team have some of the toughest jobs at Nationwide, and yet their dedication and commitment never cease to amaze me,” said Nationwide Chief Technology Officer Jim Fowler. “Todd is an admired leader who goes above and beyond for our customers, our partners and his team. He is truly deserving of this honor.”

A news and information source for the cyber security industry, CSO is a division of Foundry, which also owns the media brands CIO, Network World, InfoWorld, PC World and Macworld. CSO established its Hall of Fame in 2019.

“It is once again my great honor to congratulate this year’s exceptional inductees into the CSO Hall of Fame,” said Amy Bennett, editor in chief of CSOonline.com. “Their contributions span service in ISACs, the military, corporate, and nonprofit boards. They have built security programs from the ground up, led complex transformations, and guided their organizations through high-stakes security incidents. They are authors, educators, and mentors who have dedicated themselves to shaping and advancing the next generation of security professionals. Their impact on the field is profound, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at the CSO Conference & Awards.”
